Team of Leaders |
|
The Leaders of the Cursillo cannot be just a collection of individuals; for their witness to be authentic, they must have a sense of being community. Long before the Cursillo weekend they must have experienced what it means to be Church, what it means to build Church, and what it means to live as Church in communal witness they must form the team. All are one: a small community, a sign of faith, of hope, and charity. Function of the Spiritual Directors; To be loving; to be respected by respecting; to lead spiritually; to center doctrinally; give spiritual rollos and meditations. Function of Rector and Rectora: To lead the Cursillo technically and materially, to have control of it at every moment; to speak to everyone each day; to secure authority without imposing it; to give rollos. Function of the Rollistas: To make friends; to make them friends of Christ by helping them, encouraging them, advising them, giving example and testimony; Function of Auxiliaries: To make friends; to make them friends of Christ by helping them, encouraging them, advising them, giving example and testimony. The responsibility of the team does not end at the end of the three day weekend. The Cursillo leaders (members of the team) are also responsible for the Postcursillo. The Cursillo Leader
An instrument in the Hands of the Holy Spirit.
The principle agent of evangelization .
A leader with the basic attitude of an evangelizer with a deep sense of humility, an awareness that one is merely an instrument being directed by the Holy Spirit.
A leader who prays unceasingly to the Holy Spirit with faith and ardor willing to submit themselves prudently to His guidance as the principle author of their plans; of their initiatives;
The team of leaders teaches prayer by praying. |

Prayer of the Lay Apostle
“Lord Jesus, you who have honored us by calling us to make our humble contribution to the apostolate, you who prayed to the Heavenly Father, not to take us out of the world, but to guard us from evil, grant to us an abundance of your light and your grace so that the spirit of darkness and sin in us may be overcome, so that conscious of our responsibilities, preserving in doing good, and fired up by the vision of your purpose and plan—, with the force of your example, and by the power of prayer, action and the whole supernatural life, we may promote and establish among all men and women, our brothers and sisters, your Kingdom of justice, peace and love.” |
