With respect to the Cursillo Movement, we could define the Group Reunion as friendship carried to the supernatural realm and turned into an occasion and permanent channel for actual graces; these graces create a sanctifying situation which makes possible an authentic, continual, and progressive living out of what is fundamental for being a Christian, which in turn has the rippling effect of a dynamic evangelization of environments.

Groups are a human necessity. Human beings are social by nature, having always formed groups for the achievement of their mutual perfection: families, societies, etc. Groups are also a Christian necessity. Every Christian group should be a reflection of the Church (as sacrament, sign, and instrument of Christ) on a small scale, bringing the universal Church into everyday dimensions of sight and sound.

The Postcursillo reunion process is the key factor to discovering, achieving, solidifying, deepening, and sustaining friendship with in the Group.

The most profound form of living together is friendship, and friendship lifted by grace to a sanctifying plane is the best way possible for us to achieve Christian Community. The Group Reunion promotes living the Christian life in friendship with others.  The Cursillo Movement is interested in creating or forming friendship groups by way of these reunions, so as to perpetuate the Cursillo weekend, to make it a permanent experience to live out, and to live out together, what is fundamental for being a Christian.

Elements of the Group Reunion

Group—a community of persons constituted as such by their mutual agreement. It is something concrete, something more than just a formality.

Reunion—the moment or act in which Group members come together to deepen their friendships; this is a temporary, transitory event.

The Reunion makes it possible for the Group members to live out, in an authentic, continual, and progressive way, what is fundamental for being a Christian, through:

· Sharing

· Reviewing

· Encouraging one another to live out in their lives what is fundamental for being a Christian

· Offering one another the help to make this a reality.

Authentic Group Reunions are those which include sharing on three basic levels: spiritual life (piety),

growth in the knowledge of Christ (study),

and the integration of Christianity into the structures of society (action).
