The Precursillo is the first of the three stages of the Cursillo Movement. In this stage the Cursillo Movement initiates the evangelizing process it must complete in order to accomplish its purpose. The Precursillo consists of: 1. Studying and selecting environments in need of evangelization 2. Searching out, selecting and preparing candidates, with a view towards maximum evangelical effectiveness 3. Preparing for the Cursillo by coordinating all the spiritual, personal, and material elements involved 4. Making plans to accompany the new cursillistas in the Postcursillo to help them mature in their faith, deepen their Christian commitment, and take their apostolic place in the world. The entire strategy of the Precursillo is oriented toward the Cursillo and the Postcursillo. There is a great deal of need for unity and coordination between the Precursillo and the Postcursillo because they are lived simultaneously. The Precursillo should be developed to the extent that it makes it possible to live out and to live out together what is fundamental for being Christian.
